Artist Statement
I have a lengthy exhibition record, and am grateful to have had my work collected by private as well as corporate and government patrons over the years. My primary focus is urban and nature-based landscapes. I am currently producing a series of streetscapes of Boston-area neighborhoods, featuring historic architectural elements and small businesses such as family-owned dry cleaners, old-school convenience stores, and diners. My work involves a combination of palette knife, brushwork, and drawing into the paint; in this regard, I am following in the footsteps of my great-grandfather, the renowned American landscape painter John Folinsbee, whose French Impressionist work is on view at Vose Galleries in Boston.
